Renfrew Collingwood Mulit-cultural Artist Network presents:

Light Up the Night: A Lantern Making Project


Funded by Neighbourhood Small Grants Light Up the Night will engage residents of the Renfrew-Collingwood neighbourhood in a fun arts project that can be displayed, carried, and showcased at the annual event in the community; the Renfrew Ravine Moon Festival!

Participants of all ages are welcome to come to the Art House in the Field to make  a lantern that they can take home!  Workshops will run for every Thursday starting August 15th - August 29th from 4:00pm - 5:30pm.

Other interesting things taking place at the Art House in the Field this week are engagement arts with Still Moon Arts Society and another resident artist with Indigenous Artists United.

August 17th & 18th, 2:00pm - 5:00pm Flow Arts - Exploring Movement with Props, Still Moon Arts Society provides an opportunity to learn and or develop further skills in prop arts such as Hoops, Poi, Staff and other fun dance props with Ariel Amara, a local performance artist and fun-silly-tator.

August 18th 10:00am - 2:00pm The Indigenous Artists United will be Mask making.  A combination of paper art and theatrical  display, for Annual Renfrew Ravine Moon Festival.


Indigenous Artists United is supported by Art House in the Field, a Vancouver Park Board Artists in Field houses Residency Project.

The  Highland Gong Society & Eka Coop will be hosting Gongs & Coffee in Slocan Park on Sundays August 24th & 30th from 10:00am - 4:00pm.



Come out and meet the Montagnard, a diverse Indigenous community of Jarai, Bahnar, Ede and Bunong families who have arrived in East Vancouver as UN refugees from their ancestral lands in the Annamite rainforests of Southeast Asia – today, southeast Laos, northeast Cambodia & the Central Highlands of Vietnam.
